I started writing at the age of 9, I think. It's about the same time when my mother fell into a coma at a hospital and my father went back and forth between home and hospital (which is in antoher town) everyday. So, it can be said that writing is how I cope with my being left alone most of the time - as an only child, I sure know how to entertain myself time to time.
Growing up was quite tough, I think, because I don't really fit in, even since from kindergarten I somehow sensed that - it's always something that I say or do or how I look or what color of my skin etc etc. Even what I write for school tasks was considered amusing for people around me. But, been there and done there - and though there were times I wished I could blend in - I finally realized that being different is not bad and I started to take pride of who I am, what I am.
My first story ever was about my dogs; I wrote them as one big happy family with usual normal things happen in family (hey, I was 9 xp ). And then, because I was hooked with kid detective stories, like famous five etc, I wrote my own adventure stories starring me and my childhood best friend. Overtime, I also started to write my own episodes of TV serials I like (back then I didn't know the term of fanfictions).
I don't really have any official achievement for my writing career (if you consider that winning 2nd place for writing religious poetry when I was in junior high school is achievement x_x ) because although now I want people to read my stuff, back then, for years I didn't really wanna expose my stories (I guess because all I wrote were silly stories so I was quite embarrassed if anybody read). However, my cousins ever read one of them, of course behind my back, and I was both furious and ashamed when finding that out xp
Now, I'm still writing silly stories but what the heck, as long as I'm happy writing them. And I hope I can keep on writing for years onwards ^_____^
